Situation

We have been working with national firm Scott-Moncrieff (‘Scomo’) for a number of years to help grow their business, attract new consultant solicitors and enhance their reputation as one of the leading ‘virtual law firms’ in the UK.

Scott-Moncrieff began life as a legal aid/public law firm but broadened its skill-base and reputation to include everything from PI, family and employment to the full range of company commercial law, including litigation.

Our goals have been to grow Scomo’s company commercial offering, to attract city consultant (freelance) solicitors, to generate more business online for both legal aid/public sector work and company commercial/private client work, and generally to enhance the firm’s wider reputation and provide a stronger legal sector presence.

Strategy

At the outset, we interviewed key Scott-Moncrieff stakeholders to establish the brief and to ensure that our activities were aligned with client goals, brand objectives and budget. Since working with Scomo we have designed and built a professional, contemporary, fully optimised, mobile responsive website on a flexible, scalable, search engine friendly content management system based on client brief at Scomo. Several years into the relationship we modernised the site, to include a specially designed ‘Join Us’ section aiming to attract some of the country’s top consultant solicitors. The online business generation strategy includes an ongoing optimised content plan, PPC campaign, SEO strategy and at various points we have run demand generation campaigns targeting specific audiences. We have also helped consultants with their own stand-alone websites sites to help enhanced their brand and grow their own numbers of online enquiries, while helping to boost the main scomo.com site and keeping all online assets aligned with the overarching Scomo brand, visual identity and graphical standards.

Result

As a result, we have helped Scomo continually attract new talented consultant solicitors and improve their overall reputation as one of the leading virtual law firms with their ‘Freedom for Freelance Lawyers’ messaging.

Simultaneously there have been increasing levels of business generated for a wide and growing range of practice areas, allowing the expanding base of freelance solicitors to help a greater number of clients across England and Wales.
